Q: What is your name?
Devon Cowan
Q: Why did you choose the major that you chose?
I am a major in advertising and a minor in real estate. I am interested in real estate and this brought me to my major. I am Interested in land and properties and figuring out how it benefits me and others. I chose advertising because it will work out for my future plans of being a realtor.
Q: Where are you from originally?
Mount Laurel, New Jersey. It is in South Jersey, a suburban town. It is nice because it is 20 mins from Philadelphia and 20 mins from the beach.
Q: How did you decide on Marquette?
The Marquette lacrosse team and I am a fan of the Midwest.
Q: What is a pivotal moment in your life?
Meeting my best friend Sawyer because ever since I met him, life has been awesome. Ever since junior year we have done a lot of cool things.
Q: How many siblings do you have (if any)?
One younger sister, 18 years old.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
I see myself moving west specifically Kansas and beginning the process of getting my own real estate company and building from the ground up.
Q: What are your hobbies?
Lacrosse and anything outdoors; fishing, hunting.
Q: Why did you choose to go to college?
It’s my opportunity to get set up for the real world and made it easier that I got recruited to go here. Therefore I am not paying anything. A low cost to begin my future.
Q: How might you describe yourself to other people?
I am an outdoorsy person who values hard work and respect.
Q: Who is the most influential person in your life?
My Dad because of how he grew up. It was a lot different than how I grew up. I was a lot more privileged than he was and it made me learn to do things by myself.
Q: What year are you in college?
I am a freshman in college despite being 20 because it is popular in the East coast to get recruited to a private high school to play lacrosse for one year.
Q: Where is the best place you have visited?
Anguilla, in the caribbean. Lately, I have been fortunate enough to travel a lot in the past two years.
Q: What is your biggest pet peeve?
When people don’t say thank you. It is extremely disrespectful.
Q: What are you good at?
Lacrosse: 3 goals helped us to win in overtime. I am also good at helping people in need.
